EPOS ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), which can be seen as “EPOS Europe”, held its last general meeting by videoconference on May 30, 2024. The main item on the agenda was the discussion and approval of the EPOS strategy document. This document is intended to guide the decisions of Executive Director Lilli Freda and her team in the years 2024-2028. As always, France was represented by MESR, which exercises France’s voting rights on behalf of CNRS and BRGM, currently the French members of EPOS ERIC.

EPOS ERIC has received an excellent scientific and technical evaluation of its activities during its first five years of initial operation (2019-2023).

“EPOS ON” will be the next major project awarded to EPOS ERIC, to consolidate and evolve its services to the solid earth community. “EPOS ON” will officially start on September 1, 2024 and will last 4 years, as part of the European Union’s Horizon Infrastructure program. The project has 34 institutional participants across Europe, including CNRS, BRGM, UCA and UGA in France.
